Omelette with chives, spring onions, and gruyere; zucchini with spring onions – 22 May 2011

Well, the world is still here, so we had dinner. We worked hard most of the day, and D planned a simple but good dinner of an omelette.

He had some leftover spring onions, which he used both in the omelette, and mixed and sauteed with the sliced zucchini. Some grated gruyere from the Cheese Board, chives from the garden… I think that’s it. He put a bottle of Chateau Bonnet Sauvignon/Semillion/Muscadet into the fridge early enough that it got nice and cold, and it was delicious with the meal. Forgot to photograph the wine bottle so will have to add that later. Oh, I made toast with the bread D baked yesterday – a no-knead loaf, mostly white with some Grape Nuts fines in it. Very good bread!
