Beef stew from the freezer; sugar snap peas – 19 January 2011

D got home late and defrosted a quart or so of beef stew that he made on 23 October, with rather startling orange flavor in it.

The orange had calmed down, for unknown reasons (possibly related to the addition of extra potatoes tonight?) and it was a really good beef stew.

D chose a wine we got last weekend at the Bowl, called “Garnacha de Fuego” (Old Vines 2009). We both enjoyed it a lot, and it only cost $7.50, so we’ll be back for more.
